Nicholas Parsons OBE

Nicholas is a serious actor and a comedy performer, he has encompassed dramatic and humorous roles in the theatre and cinema, television and radio.

Also sophisticated solo cabaret work and stand up comedy in various countries around the country including the Edinburgh Festival, - five seasons, three different shows.

He became a household name in Britain when he appeared as straight man to Arthur Haynes in the 1960's and their programmes were the top rated comedy shows on Independent Television for ten years.

Nicholas has appeared in many comedies, farces and pantomimes and has hosted the BBC Radio 4 JUST A MINUTE for 35 years. He was the host of the amazingly successful SALE OF THE CENTURY for 14 years and his autobiography THE STRAIGHT MAN - MY LIFE IN COMEDY was published in 1994.

His appearances in the West End include CHARLIE GIRL, Stephen Sondheim's, INTO THE WOODS and more recently two seasons and a national tour in the cult musical, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW.

He works actively for a number of children's charities and is ex-President of The Lord''s Taverners.
